    • The only reason this ‘treaty’ (Lisbon Treaty) was drawn up was to break down the sovereignty of all participating nations in order to give free reign to the neoliberals, the neocons, the privatization-and-deregulation gurus and big corporations, who will be able to dictate their terms for everything. Wages, social welfare, health care, taxes, ‘defence’ (read ‘war’) will eventually be taken from the national governments and the citizen will have much less influence on laws and regulations. In short, the treaty is an attempt to impoverish and subdue the European population. Because it is important and far-reaching the whole population should be able to vote on this treaty. Those in power don’t want you to have any influence whatsoever. This treaty is the beginning of an undemocratic Europe. It’s a coup d’état. [6]
    • "Paul (Paul de Grauwe) started out as a hard core liberal, who over time moved toward the centre, towards an idea of a humane market economy, an area where I have always dwelled. Welcome the club! Today, Mario Draghi (member of the Board of Directors of the Bank for International Settlements), Mario Monti (Knights of Malta) and myself (Herman Van Rompuy) are all three alumni from the Jesuits. Back to basics." - Speech by Herman Van Rompuy President of the European Council at the Conference in honour of Professor Paul de Grauwe [7] (see Masonic politicians)
