Cross

"Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree." (Galatians 3:13)

One of the most important symbols of Catholics and Protestants is the cross. The priest makes the sign of the cross on the head of infants as they are sprinkled; churches are built in the shape of the cross; when Catholics enter church, they take holy water and make the sign of the cross; during Mass, the priest makes the sign of the cross 16 times and blesses the altar with the cross 30 times. The cross is universally worn as jewelry around the neck, and is prominent in professing Christian homes.

Early Christians considered the cross as the accursed tree, a device of death and shame, Hebrews 12:2. They did not trust in an old rugged cross. Instead, their faith was in what was accomplished on the cross (or stake, or whatever it was Jesus was impaled upon). That is how the Apostles preached about the cross, I Corinthians 1:17-18.

"Yet the cross itself is the oldest of phallic emblems, and the lozenge-shaped windows of cathedrals are proof that the yonic symbols have survived the destructions of the pagan Mysteries. The very structure of the church itself is permeated with (sexual symbolism) phallicism. Remove from the Christian Church all emblems of Priapic origin and nothing is left..." - The secret teaching of all ages by Manley P. Hall [39]

It was not until Christianity became paganized (or paganism was Christianized), when the cross image came to be thought of as a Christian symbol, part of worship. Crosses in churches was introduced in A.D. 431; the use of crosses on steeples did not come about until about 586. The Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words says the cross originated among the Babylonians of ancient Chaldea, used as a symbol of the god Tammuz. Almost any book of ancient Egypt shows the use of the Tau cross (shaped like the letter T) on old monuments and walls of ancient temples. Seymour says that the cross, unchanged for thousands of years, was reverenced . . . among the Chaldeans, Phoenicians, Mexicans, and every ancient people of both hemispheres, The Cross in Tradition, History, and Art, pp. 22, 26. The cross had been a sacred symbol of India for centuries among non-Christians. Prescott reports that when the Spaniards first landed in Mexico, they were shocked to behold the cross, sacred emblem of their own Catholic faith, reverenced in Aztec temples. A heathen temple in Palenque, Mexico, founded in the ninth century B.C., was known as The Temple of the Cross. Ancient Mexicans worshipped a cross as tota (our father), similar to apostate Israelites who worshipped a piece a wood as my father Jeremiah 2:27. In 46 B.C., Roman coins show Jupiter holding a long sceptre terminating in a cross. Vestal virgins (temple prostitutes) of pagan Rome wore the cross suspended from their necklaces, as Roman Catholic nuns do today.

Most Reformers regarded it as "the accursed," viz.

"And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree: His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance" Deuteronomy 21:22-26
"The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree" Acts 5:30
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree" [as Jesus was hung upon a tree]. Gal 3:13

It is therefore, an affront to the Lord Jesus to continually display a sign of his suffering and humiliation - especially one, which tends to superstition. It is a risen, ascended and glorified Jesus that should be worshiped.

The cross is only a step away from the crucifix, which is the image of Christ hanging on the cross. This is a potent symbol of the blasphemous doctrine of the Mass, since the crucifix symbolizes the continual sacrifice of Christ upon the altar.

Since Jesus died on a cross, some say, doesn't that make it a Christian symbol? Let us suppose He was put to death with a hatchet; would this be a reason to venerate the hatchet? Again, the important thing is not the way Jesus died, but who died (the son of God), and why He died (for the sins of mankind). Crucifixion was a common method of execution for flagrant crimes in Egypt, Assyria, Persia, Palestine, Carthage, Greece, and Rome. Seymour reports, Tradition ascribes the invention of the punishment of the cross to a woman, the queen Semiramis. [40]

The Cross as a Sun Symbol

How has the cross come to be a symbol of the sun? If anyone will observe carefully a lamp, or other bright light, with partially closed eyes, the answer will be obvious. The rays which appear to proceed from the luminous point always form a cross of some kind. A little experimenting will show that this appearance is due to reflection from the eyelashes and edges of the eyelids. The same experiment may be tried with the sun itself: if observed when considerably above the horizon, squinting will be unavoidable. If the head is erect, the downward arm of the cross will be much the strongest, and the upward arm may be obsolete; but if the head is thrown back, the arms will be nearly equal. [41]

Cross of Tau

  • Various notes
    • The Cross of Tau; also called the Tau Cross, St. Anthony's Cross, the Old Testament Cross, the Anticipatory Cross, the Cross Commissee, the Egyptian Cross, the Advent Cross, Croce taumata, "Saint Francis's Cross" or the Crux Commissa. Hence, this cross is often used during the Advent season. (Wikipedia)
    • The writings of ninteenth century occultist Aleister Crowley teach that the cross and the Tau are at once symbols of power and the human phallus [43]
    • Hiram Abiff is given a hammer in the form of a TAU by his ancestor, Tubal-cain. The TAU cross is preserved to modern Masonry under the symbol of the T square. This appears to be the oldest form of the cross extant. ~Manly P Hall "The Secret Teachings of All Ages"(1928)[44]
  • Ankh of ancient Egypt
    • Another theory holds that the ankh was symbolic of the sunrise, with the loop representing the Sun rising above the horizon, which is represented by the crossbar. The vertical section below the crossbar would then be the path of the sun [45]
    • In their 2004 book The Quick and the Dead, Andrew H. Gordon and Calvin W. Schwabe speculated that the Ankh, Djed and Was symbols have a biological basis derived from ancient "cattle culture" (bull worshiping), thus:
  1. the Ankh - symbol of life - thoracic vertebrae of a bull (seen in cross section)
  2. the Djed - symbol of stability - base or sacrum of a bull's spine
  3. the Was - symbol of power and dominion - a staff made from a dried bull's penis

Triple Tau

  • Yet another proof of the deviltry of the Jahbuhlun hoax is the symbol of the Triple Tau, which is the most important symbol of the Royal Arch Degree. Made up of three interlinking tau symbols (T), these three are said to represent a triad of sacred, Jewish powers of king, priest, and prophet. In other words, the Mason assumes a trinity of Jewish spiritual powers. Actually, this trinity of the Jews is in competition with the true Godhead of the Bible: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Triple Tau is the most significant symbol, or logo, of the Royal Arch Mason. It represents the Mason who has reached either the seventh degree of the York Rite or 13th degree of the Scottish Rite as embodying within the attributes of the Godhead, or Holy Trinity, by blasphemously declaring himself to be the great I Am That I Am, thus identifying himself with Satan's promise in the Garden, "ye shall be as Gods." Quadruple Tau

  • The Cross Potent[47]
  • That part of the zodiac embracing the summer solstice, and reaching from the vernal to the autumnal equinox, was considered the most important and sacred by the ancients, because the sun was therein exalted, and because it embraced the whole of the seasons of springtime and harvest. It is that part of the zodiac only which is therefore represented in the symbol of the triple tau. If, however, we unite in one emblem the triple tau and that of "a circle embordered by two parallel lines," we will have a correct geometrical representation of the whole zodiac, the four principal points of which will also be designated in a similar manner, by which it will be seen that the two emblems are in fact but parts of one complete whole.[48]

Cross and Crown

  • Various notes:
    • The Cross and Crown symbol represents the union of the Spiritual/Religious and Temporal/Political domination.
      • Its a known Masonic symbol that dates to the Medieval Ages and the Knights Templar. It is not an ancient Christian symbol.
      • "In the Masonic Report, we make this discovery: Question: What does Masonry's emblem of the 'Cross and Crown' actually symbolize?" Answer: "The 'Cross' of Freemasonry is a philosophical cross, according to Albert Pike, 'Morals and Dogma', p. 771. It is philosophical in the sense that it [also] represents the "generating fecundating principle" by the perpendicular shaft [Phallus], and the matrix of womb of nature, the female producing principle [Female Vulva], by the horizontal shaft. The philosophy of the Masonic cross is totally phallic. The 'Crown' of this Masonic emblem is also phallic, it being the first emanation of the Cabalistic Sephiroth ..." [C.F. McQuaig, "The Masonic Report", Norcross, Georgia, Answer Books and Tapes, 1976, p. 34]" [49]

Double Cross

  • Various notes:
    • Have you ever been double-crossed?
    • See also: Double-cross rune, Cross of Lorraine.
    • Hermetic alchemists of the Renaissance used the emblem as a symbol of earth and spirit by combining the square earth cross with the cross of Christ. When drawn symmetrically, it symbolised the hermetic maxim, "As above, so below".

Cross of Baphomet

  • Various notes:
    • This sign is also used as the symbol of Baphomet.

Papal cross

  • Various notes:
    • Symbolism connected with the papal powers have been attached to the three crossbars, similar to the symbolism attached, with greater historical foundation, to the three bands on the papal tiara.

  • Various notes:
    • "The Order of Bards (OBOD) describe the three lines as rays emanating from three points of light, with those points representing the triple aspect of deity and, also, the points at which the sun rises on the equinoxes and solstices - known as the Triad of the Sunrises. The emblem as used by the OBOD is surrounded by three circles representing the three circles of creation." [50]

Fasces

It has been suggested that since the rods in a bundle are harder to break, or harder for the axe to cut, the fasces symbolizes the message "united we stand." This unified strength reminds us of the unification achieved by Nimrod when he built the rebellious Tower of Babel. Notice the collective pronouns used in Genesis 11:1-4. From this time onward Satan has attempted to unite mankind in rebellion against God. Numerous governments and other authorities have used the image of the fasces as a symbol of power since the end of the Roman Empire. Italian fascism, which derives its name from the fasces, arguably used this symbolism the most in the 20th century. The British Union of Fascists also used it in the 1930s. The fasces are a common decoration in and on government buildings, especially those built during the Art Deco period when Fascism was popular, even in America. At the Lincoln Memorial the fronts of the chair's arms are shaped to resemble fasces. The U.S. House of Representatives displays the fasces on either side of the American flag and uses fasces as their Mace. Even a statue of George Washington features him resting on the fasces. The U.S Senate uses the fasces on their seal. The Knights of Columbus and the National Guard both use the fasces in their crests. In America the reverse side of the Mercury dime featured the fasces. [51]

Bundled arrows

  • Through history, the arrow has symbolized war, power, swiftness, the rays of the sun, knowledge... as well as deities such as the Greek god Apollo and goddess Artemis (both hunters), the Hindu weather god, Rudra; and various gods of sexual attraction: Eros (Greek), Cupid (Roman), Kama (Hindu).... On ancient Roman coins, it represented the Zoroastrian god, Mithra. The native American Cheyenne warriors revered the "sacred medicine arrows" as symbols of male power. Arrows held by skeletons would point to disease or death. Today, they usually just point in the preferred

direction. [52]

  • Nimrod was known to be a mighty hunter. [53]

Thunderbolt

  • Luke 10:17-19
    • "And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you."

Shell

  • The shell seen here is similar to the NBC peacock logo. Both represent the sun and its rays. These rays of light represent the esoteric knowledge that man can become God through scientific knowledge. [54]
  • The shell was a symbol for the universe, and for moving across the Zodiac. [55]
  • In Catholicism
    • Scallop shell: the sea shell, especially the scallop shell, is the symbol of Baptism, and is found frequently on Baptismal fonts. The dish used by priests to pour water over the heads of catechumens in Baptism is often scallop-shaped. The scallop, too, is a symbol for the Apostle James the Greater. [56]

Bell

  • Various Notes:
    • The bell have always been a symbol for the sun. The name Baal in fact precedes the word Bell. In ancient times Baal was worshipped as a solar deity, and to his honour cymbals where constructed. The high priest would hit he cymbal to gather the laymen for ceremonies. This solemn procedure later evolved as the bells placed in church towers, ringing in for service. In fact, if you would view a church bell from underneath, it is identicao the symbol of Baal. [57]
