Dedi (alternatively Djedi or Djedy)

Dedi (alternatively Djedi or Djedy) is the name of a soothsayer and magician in an Ancient Egyptian tale set in the era of Khufu, one of a number of stories to be found in the 'Westcar Papyrus. He is said to have been able to reattach the severed heads of birds and then to resurrect them, but objected to doing the same to convicted criminals, basing his refusal on ethical considerations, claiming: "Surely, it is not permitted to do such a thing to the noble cattle!" , the "noble cattle" being a term which referred to mankind.

  • Westcar Papyrus: Westcar Papyrus (P. Berlin 3033) is a fragmentary ancient Egyptian text containing a cycle of five stories about marvels performed by priests and magicians. Each of these tales is being told at the court of the Pharaoh Khufu (r. 2589-2566 B.C) by his sons. The story in the papyrus is usually rendered in English as "King Cheops and the Magicians" and "The Tale of King Cheops' Court," 'Cheops' being the Greek variation of 'Khufu'. [10]

Simon Magus

Right from the very beginning, Satan had his counterfeit "messiah" operating right in the true Messiah's backyard. His name was Simon Magus or Simon the Sorcerer and this man, and not Simon Peter the Apostle, went on to found the Universal Roman "church." His career was the history of Roman Catholicism in miniature. For a long time he bewitched the people with his false miracles. Since the year 800 A.D., Rome has bewitched the world with her false miracles of transubstantiation. Simon believed and was baptized. Outwardly he was a Christian but his belief was only superficial and he was still a pagan at heart. He coveted the apostolic office and saw the opportunity of using Christianity to make money — a business corporation masquerading as the congregation of Christ!! From Simon Magus we get the word simony which means to buy a religious office with money. After his encounter with St. Peter, this magician went to Rome and by tricks and false miracles established a Christian church in that city. This man can truly be considered as the founder of the Roman Catholic church.

"When Justin Martyr wrote [152 A.D.] his Apology, the sect of the Simonians appears to have been formidable, for he speaks four times of their founder, Simon; and we need not doubt that he identified him with the Simon of the Acts. He states that he was a Samaritan, adding that his birthplace was a village called Gitta; he describes him as a formidable magician, and tells that he came to ROME in the days of Claudius Caesar (45 A.D.), and made such an impression by his magical powers, THAT HE WAS HONORED AS A GOD, a statue being erected to him on the Tiber, between the two bridges, bearing the inscription ‘Simoni deo Sancto’ (i.e., "the holy god Simon" Dictionary of Christian Biography, Vol. 4, p. 682).

What Simon did was to bring the Babylonian and Greek religious beliefs into a form of Christianity in order to bring about, as Harnack says, a UNIVERSAL [Catholic] religion. "The amalgam of paganism and Christianity which was characteristic of Gnosticism, and which was especially obvious in the Simonian system, is readily explicable in the teaching of Simon Magus, who, according to the story in Acts, was brought into intimate contact with Christian teaching without becoming a genuine member" (Ibid., p. 496). Harnack, a church historian, states that Simon Magus "proclaimed a doctrine in which the Jewish faith was strangely and grotesquely mixed with BABYLONIAN myths, together with some Greek additions. The mysterious worship ... in consequence of the widened horizon and the deepening religious feeling, finally the wild Syncretism, whose aim WAS A UNIVERSAL RELIGION, all contributed to gain adherents for Simon" (Vol. 1, p. 244).

In their opposition to Christianity the Jews may have felt a certain sympathy with the teachings of Simon, thus accounting for the legends which term them his disciples. When, in his flight from Peter, Simon went to Rome and wished to prove his divinity by flying through the air, the Jews are said to have been his partizans; and when he fell wounded to the earth, and was taken to Aricia, a small town near Rome where his grave is yet shown, Jews are alleged to have escorted him thither; and their descendants lived there until 1600.[11]

The existence of the sect of Simonians called after Simon and related to the other Samaritan sect called after Dositheus, certainly proves the historicity of his existence against the critics who declare him to be a fictitious person and "Simon" to be the pseudonym of Paul. It is remarkable, moreover, that a magician by the name of Simon is mentioned by Josephus as having lived at the very same time as Simon Magus of the Church literature.[12]

Nostradamus

  • (1503-1566)
    • The method he used to prophecy was by using a method called scrying. This is a common technique in witchcraft, defined as "concentrating on a shiny object until vision appears... practiced by magicians and witchcrafts from ages past." (source: Witchcraft today by James R. Lewis, pg 264) One could use the popular shinny ball, black paint, or even blood. Nostradamus used a bowl of water. History then has it that Nostradamus warned his son about the very practice of witchcraft that he himself was practicing. He told his infant son, "Never to dable in such practices for they desecrate the body, disturb the mind, and send the soul to perdition" (Source: Nostradamus Encyclopedia, pg 64)[13]

Catherine Deshayes

  • (1640?-1680)
    • a.k.a Madame LaViosin, A Satanist who headed a cult of Devil worshipers that celebrated the Black Mass. LaViosin’s use of a nude girl as an altar was practiced by later Satanists groups, including Anton LaVey’s original Church of Satan. The chicken or egg question is, was LaViosin the first to celebrate actual Black Masses inspired by earlier but untrue legends, or did some sort of abominations actually take place in the centuries prior to her cult, providing an actual basis for the stories? At any rate, LaViosin’s case is well documented...perhaps the best documented witch trial ever...and such rituals did take place, and the parties involved were not innocent of their crimes.
    • A debauched priest named Gibourg created communion wafers from flour and blood from the sacrificed infants. These were then used in the Black Masses against King Louis XIV. The King’s mistress had employed LaViosin to use Satanic black magic to kill the King, which didn’t work. When this failed to work, she planned to poison him, but the plot was uncovered before she could carry it out. [15]
    • LaViosin and several debauched Priests who had converted to Satanism conducted Black Masses with placentas and fetuses of the aborted babies provided by LaViosin’s abortion business, as well as living unwanted ones, over the naked bodies of young girls as altars. During the Masses, the demons Astoroth and Asmodeus were “invoked” for assistance. LaVisoin later confessed to police that over the years she had cremated some of the remains of the fetuses and babies in her furnace, and some she buried some in her garden. This was confirmed when authorities unearthed thousands of bones of infants on her property. An exact body count of the child murders and poisonings was impossible to tell, but must have been quite high.
    • To avoid a public scandal, King Louis the 14th ordered the trial to be conducted in a sealed court (a star chamber). LaViosin and her gang were all arrested, tried, and convicted for their crimes. The Government of France then created laws against fortune telling, sorcery, and poison to help assure successor cults didn’t arise. Years later the King ordered all records of the trial to be burned, but a few copies accidentally (or intentionally) weren’t destroyed and survive even today. Even though LaVisoin practiced human sacrifices, which some occultists consider to be the ultimate act for attaining power (it was widely practiced by the Pagans of old), it still did her no good. The Devil never gives complete success to those who follow him. LaViosin was burned at the stake in 1680.(see Poison affair)

Louis Gaufridi

  • Aix-en-Provence possessions.
    • "Eventually, the two nuns revealed that they had been subject to spells cast by a Catholic priest by the name of Louis Gaufridi, said to be the head of all the magicians of Europe “as far as Turkey.” Magdalen revealed that she had been initiated into a coven of sorcerers and witches by Gaufridi when she was still a child. This astonishing information was only the beginning, as Magdalen gave many detailed descriptions of the action of the cult. Eventually, Father Gaufridi was himself arrested and eventually admitted that he had come into the possession of occult books left to him by his uncle and was tempted to try them out. When he did, he found himself face-to-face with demons who instructed him in all the mysteries of magic. He used his magic powers to seduce women, and to introduce them to the cult and marry them to demons, such as Beelzebub, the “Lord of the Flies.” According to Gaufridi, his cult consisted of three levels or degrees: that of novices, witches, and magicians (the highest degree). Eventually, after the inquisitors had all the information they could use from him, they had Gaufridi burned at the stake." - Papal Occult Magic In The Catholic Church p.33-34

Etienne Guibourg

  • Several of these masses were performed, and the priest in charge was one Etienne Guibourg, a man of about sixty-seven years. He had been chosen to replace another priest, Abbe Mariette, who had been performing these rites for La Voisin until he found himself in prison for sacrilege and then went into self-imposed exile abroad. Guibourg eventually would perform Black Masses in the hundreds, according to the trial records, and during these Masses infants were sacrificed. At times, he was assisted by other priests—the Abbe Davot, the Abbe Guignard, and the Abbe Serault, among many others, and including Bishop Gille-Lefranc, for a total of some fifty Catholic clergymen who were finally executed for sacrilege, sorcery, and blasphemy over the affair—and once news of this operation finally reached the authorities, a largescale crackdown took place during which more than one hundred other persons—nobles and commoners—were arrested and over thirty commoners executed (the nobles generally escaping the death sentence). According to La Voisin herself, several thousand infants were slaughtered this way.... According to the archives, some of these rites were even more complex and involved the collection of human semen and menstrual blood, out of which cakes were made with the addition of bat’s blood and flour. It is believed that these cakes were somehow introduced into the diet of the King.

1700s

Adam Weishaupt

  • (1748 - 1830)
    • He graduated from the University of Ingolstadt, [Bavaria] in 1768. He served four years as a tutor until he was promoted to Assistant Instructor. In 1772, Weishaupt was made Professor of Civil Law. In 1773, he was made Professor of Canon Law, a post which had been held by the Jesuits for 90 years. They had founded most of the Universities, and kept strict control of them in order to eliminate Protestant influence. [16]
      • In 1773, Weishaupt got married, against the wishes of Ickstatt, who denounced him. Two years later, at the age of 27, he was made Dean of the Faculty of Law... To confuse his detractors, he based the organizational structure (of the Illuminati) on the one used by the Jesuits, however, his intention was to have a secret coalition of liberalism.
      • He studied the anti-Christian doctrines of the Manicheans, whose teachings revolved around astrology, medicine, and magic. He had been indoctrinated into Egyptian occult practices by an unknown merchant named Kolmer, ... who had been traveling around Europe since 1771. He studied the power of the Eleusinian mysteries and the influence exerted by the secret cult of the Pythagoreans. Pythagoras was a 6th century B.C. philosopher who taught that men and women should combine their belongings, which became the basic philosophy behind Communism. Weishaupt also studied the teachings of the Essenes, and acquired copies of the Kabala, The Major Key of Solomon, and The Lesser Key of Solomon, which revealed how to conjure up demons and perform occult rituals.
      • He studied the various Masonic writings after meeting a Protestant Freemason from Hanover. At first he thought about creating a superior Masonic-like organization that would be made up of men possessing superior abilities in all fields but concluded that Masonry was too open.
        • "The great strength of our Order lies in its concealment, let it never appear, in any place in its own name, but always covered by another name, and another occupation. None is fitter than the three lower degrees of Freemasonry; the public is accustomed to it, expects little from it, and therefore takes little notice of it... For the Order wishes to be secret, and to work in silence, for thus it is better secured from the oppression of the ruling powers, and because this secrecy gives a greater zest to the whole." [17]
      • Weishaupt spent five years working out a plan through which all of his ideas could be reduced to a single system which would be used to fight the oppression of religion, thereby loosening social ties. He wanted to replace Christianity with a religion of reason. An initial idea was to form an organization comprised of 'Schools of Wisdom,' whose goal was to "make of the human race, one good and happy family." They were to strive for the perfection of morals, so he thought about naming the group the 'Perfectibilists,' but it lacked the air of mystery and intrigue that he sought.

Helena Blavatsky

  • (1831-1891)
  • Demonic Possessions described by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky [19]
    • When Isis was published, Vera Jelihovsky (HPB.'s sister) became very concerned about her sister Helena, who was writing in a manner that would have been impossible some years previously. She could not understand how HPB had acquired such knowledge, which had led to high praise from the American and British Press. There were rumors that the source of knowledge was "sorcery", and this terrified the family. Indeed, Vera wrote her sister imploring an explanation. HPB answered:
      • "Do not be afraid that I am off my head. All that I can say is that someone positively inspires me – ... more than this: someone enters me. It is not I who talk and write: it is something within me, my higher and luminous Self, that thinks and writes for me. Do not ask me, my friend, what I experience, because I could not explain it to you clearly. I do not know myself! The one thing I know is that now, when I am about to reach old age, I have become a sort of storehouse of somebody else’s knowledge... Someone comes and envelops me as a misty cloud and all at once pushes me out of myself, and then I am not "I" any more – Helena Petrovna Blavatsky – but someone else. Someone strong and powerful, born in a totally different region of the world; and as to myself it is almost as if I were asleep, or lying by not quite conscious, – not in my own body but close by, held only by a thread which ties me to it." (Letters of HP Blavatsky, Letter I)
    • In 1865, while living in the Caucasus, HPB had also undergone a similar experience. Sinnett told how Madame Blavatsky described the process:
      • "Whenever I was called by name, I opened my eyes upon hearing it, and was myself, my own personality in every particular. As soon as I was left alone, however, I relapsed into my usual, half-dreamy condition, and became somebody else (who, namely, Mme. B. will not tell). (...) When awake, and myself, I remembered well who I was in my second capacity, and what I had been and was doing." (Sinnett 1886, 147-8)
    • HPB also described to her sister the process by which this "somebody" inhabited her body. She explained that this duality had been taking place since the time when her leg had almost been amputated, when she had been completely healed by a negro, at the request of his "Sahib"
      • "He has cured me entirely. And just about this time I have begun to feel a very strange duality. Several times a day I feel that besides me there is someone else, quite separable from me, present in my body. I never lose the consciousness of my own personality; what I feel is as if I were keeping silent and the other one – the lodger who is in me – were speaking with my tongue. (...) But what’s the use of talking about it? It’s enough to drive one mad. I try to throw myself into the part and to forget the strangeness of my situation. This is no mediumship, and by no means an impure power; for that, it has too strong an ascendancy over us all, leading us into better ways. No devil would act like that. ‘Spirits’, maybe? But if it comes to that, my ancient ‘spooks’ dare not approach me any more. It’s enough for me to enter the room where a séance is being held to stop all kinds of phenomena at once, especially materializations. Ah no, this is altogether of a higher order! But phenomena of another sort take place more and more frequently under the direction of my No. 2." (Letters of HP Blavatsky, Letter I)

Nicholas Roerich

  • (1874-1947)
    • Stasulane demonstrates that the Roerichs teach that the great religions, including Christianity and Indian religions, have distorted the pure teachings of their founding prophets. With Agni Yoga, or the “Teaching,” the Roerichs viewed themselves as emissaries of the master Morya and other mahatmas (modern day Ascended masters) who will draw enlightened seekers toward the one Truth or Ancient Wisdom. Despite the Roerichs claims to “the highest” spirituality, Stasulane shows that the Russian couple defines or reduces religion, whether Buddhist or any other, to a version of “Blavatskaya’s” theosophy. The latter’s genius was to apply a spiritual form of evolutionary theory to human destiny supported by stringing together a myriad of 19th century occult teachings. The result in both Theosophy and Agni Yoga, as the author demonstrates, is a highly suggestive, vague notion that we are destined to return to the impersonal Source of being after efforts in many incarnations. The real, unvarnished Truth is thus hidden, or occulted, from the uninitiated or ignorant.
    • Stasulane points out that the “Rerikh” groups “differ enormously throughout the world but they fulfill the longing in atheist Soviet society for something that is simultaneously highly intellectual, scientific and mystical.” [i] Prior to the Bolshevik takeover, Russian seekers were already imbued with what later became the New Age explosion of beliefs in America in the decades after 1960. That explosion includes astrology, Theosophy, occultism, vegetarianism, Buddhism, Indian religions and yoga, and messianic expectations.

  • The Great Seal of the United States
    • If you look at an American one-dollar bill, you will find a pyramid with an “eye” on top . The Great Pyramid is often associated with Freemasonry, and many of the American founding fathers were Freemasons. The symbol comes from the Great Seal of the United States designed in 1782 by Charles Thompson. In 1934 the Secretary of Agriculture Henry Wallace convinced Secretary of the Treasury Henry Morgenthau to place it on the dollar. It appeared in 1935. Morgenthau did not know at the time that Wallace made the suggestion at the behest of his guru Nicholas Roerich. To Roerich, the eye represented the gaze of mahatmas, or super-evolved beings that guide the affairs and spiritual evolution of humanity. Roerich and his wife Helena followed the Theosophy teachings of the colorful 19th century occultist, Helena P. Blavatsky (1831–1891). By 1925, the Roerichs had established a new theosophical group called Agni Yoga in New York and London, and later in Latvia, Russia, and India. Like Blavatsky, the Roerichs believed that mahatmas had chosen them as messengers to an elite core of mankind.[22]

Aleister Crowley

Edgar Cayce

  • (1880 – 1945))

Alice Bailey

  • (1880 – 1949)
    • "Alice Baily wrote that, in 1919, she was contacted by a Master known as The Tibetan (later associated with the initials D.K., and eventually the name Djwhal Khul). Bailey stated that after initial resistance, she was eventually persuaded to write down the communications from this source. She wrote for 30 years, from 1919 to 1949. The result was 24 published books on ancient wisdom, philosophy, religion, contemporary events, science, psychology, nations, astrology, and healing. Also in 1919, 32nd degree Freemason Foster Bailey (1888-1977), who was to be her second husband, became National Secretary of the Theosophical Society."
      • Alice Bailey and husband Foster (32° degree mason) continued to interlock the workings of Theosophy with the aims of Freemasonry. Bailey, as founder of Lucis (Lucifer) Trust, worked laboriously to fulfill the plan toward a New World Religion, which her master Djwhal Khul had said was the ultimate aim of Freemasonry. The Hierarchy had blessed both their beginnings, her master said. Master Dwaj Khul said through Bailey," when the Great One (read: AntiChrist)appears, he will take the Mysteries religion preserved by Freemasonry and make them public." The highest degree in freemasonry 33 brings one to the illumination realization that Lucifer is actually God the one who brings light and Adonai the God of the Bible is not the true god.
    • Second only to Blavatasky in the New Age hierarchy, is Alice Bailey. Author Constance Cumbey says Bailey, ". . . did more than anyone, except perhaps H. P. Blavatsky, to build the foundations for the New Age (agenda)." (Cumbey, Constance, Hidden Dangers of the Rainbow, p. 49) In 1922 Alice Bailey formed Lucifer Trust Publishing, which was later renamed to the subtle Lucis Trust Publishing. [28]
    • The Externalization of the Hierarchy
  • "Beneath the trinity at the head of the Hierarchy of Ascended Masters Alice Baily places the Devas or angels. These are subdivided into greater and lesser Builders. She refers to the greater Builders as the Solar Pitris, Agnishvattas and Fire Devas, and also as Solar Angels or Solar Gods. On p.950 of A Treatise On Cosmic Fire Bailey writes, "As the solar Gods descend ever nearer to the physical plane... the thoughts and desires of men are consequently purified and refined." Bailey footnotes "Solar Gods" here by quoting from Blavatsky's Secret Doctrine, saying, "The Solar Gods are the Fallen Angels... They are the Serpents of Wisdom" and "Their nature is Knowledge and Love.""

Various occultists

Nazi occultists

Another well known follower of Madame Blavatsky was Adolf Hitler. He was known to have kept a copy of "The Secret Doctrine" at his bedside. The margins were full of comments and notes in his own handwriting. Joseph Carr, in his book "The Twisted Cross, makes the following insightful observation:

  • The foundations of both Nazi and New Age movement philosophy are in the occultic doctrines that were made popular in the late nineteenth century by the Theosophical movement. Both Naziism and the New Age movement depend heavily upon the teachings of Helena P. Blavatsky ("The Secret Doctrine" and "Isis Unveiled").
  • From theosophists, Hitler derived his genesis theories and the notion of a controlling hierarchy of initiates. Both the theosophists of the time and the Nazis believed that mankind was guided by superior beings, Ubermenschen (supermen), who live in remote areas of the world, such as the Gobi Deserst and the Himalayan nation of Tibet. There was a substantial Tibetan and Chinese community in Berlin because of the occultic interests of German society, and Hitler augmented them with new emigres after he came to power. By 1941, there were more than one thousand Tibetans living in Berlin. [30]
