"There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown." -- Genesis 6:4.

Gods

"For all the gods of the Gentiles are devils: but the Lord made the heavens. " -- Psalm 96:5 (Douay-Rheims Bible)

Solar deity

And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD'S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, [were] about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east. - Ezekiel 8:16
"The sun, as supreme among the celestial bodies visible to the astronomers of antiquity, was assigned to the highest of the gods and became symbolic of the supreme authority of the Creator Himself ... The tenet of a Triune Divinity is not peculiar to Christian or Mosaic theology but forms a conscious part of the greatest religions of both ancient and modern times ... In every instance these represented the threefold form of one Supreme Intelligence ... All the Gods of antiquity resolved themselves into the solar fire ..." (Manly P. Hall, "The Secret Teachings of All Ages", p. XLIX) [36]

Lunar deity

Amphitheatre of Leptis Magna (Libya) dedicated to the emperor Nero (56 CE). The access to the southeast once lead to a sanctuary dedicated to the goddess Artemis (or Diana), as she was venerated in Ephesus. The cult of this "great mother goddess" is mentioned in Acts 19. [21]

      • The evidence reveals that the temple of the Moon-god was active even in the Christian era. Evidence gathered from both North and South Arabia demonstrate that Moon-god worship was clearly active even in Muhammad's day and was still the dominant cult. According to numerous inscriptions, while the name of the Moon-god was Sin, his title was al-ilah, i.e. "the deity," meaning that he was the chief or high god among the gods. As Coon pointed out, "The god Il or Ilah was originally a phase of the Moon God." The Moon-god was called al- ilah, i.e. the god, which was shortened to Allah in pre-Islamic times. The pagan Arabs even used Allah in the names they gave to their children. For example, both Muhammad's father and uncle had Allah as part of their names. [37]

Fertility deities

A fertility deity is a god or goddess in mythology associated with fertility, pregnancy, and birth. In some cases these deities are directly associated with sex, and in others they simply embody related attributes. The following is a list of fertility deities.

Satan Rewards Nimrod and Semiramis [39]

Nimrod was the first human to openly defy and oppose Jehovah God (see The Birth of Idolatry & The Babylonian Roots of Catholicism). It appears that Satan has rewarded Nimrod for this - by spreading his self-exhaltation around the world. Most gods of many countries were fashioned after Nimrod, and most goddesses of the world were fashioned after his wife/mother - Semiramis.

"Thus from Babylon emerged the entire complex of human "religion". the various gods and goddesses of Rome, Greece, India, Egypt, and other nations can be identified with corresponding gods from Babel." --Babylon - Source of False Religion, "Babylon, Mystery Religion" by Ralph Woodrow

"In his deified form, Nimrod the Sun god is known as Baal. Mythology reveals the fact that the god Baal, and the goddess, the queen of heaven, were universally worshiped under various names and titles. History confirms, that Nimrod, and his wife, Semiramis, were the prototypes for all gods and goddesses that permeated all subsequent cultures and societies." --World Religions by David Terrell

"Semiramis, in particular was the model and original of every goddess and female cult figure in the ancient and modern worlds." -- SEMIRAMIS, QUEEN OF BABYLON by Bryce Self

Mother goddess

Multiple personae of the Near Eastern Goddess include clockwise from top left, Lilith, Ishtar a cake mold from Mari (Batto), Inanna, Syrian Qadesh in Hathor head-dress with 'ithyphallic' god Min (below inset Hathor, Egypt and Timna and figurine Palestine), Isis nursing Horus, and Canaanite 'queen of the wild beasts' (Minet-al-Beida) suggestive of Asherah. For descendents of the so-called 'Mother Goddess', motherhood is rare among fertility goddesses. Only Isis has a maternal persona manifesting as nursing Horus. Lilith has an aura of precocious sexuality and fecundity without regard for her offspring, suggestive of maternal ambivalence. She has webbed feet indicating her wild nature. She precedes Inanna. When Gilgamesh cuts down the hulupu tree to establish Inanna's throne of office, Lilith flies out of it and away. Qadesh is broadly identified with the 'sacred prostitute', Ishtar, Hathor, and the Canaanite Queen of Heaven (Semiramis) for whom Jeremiah (44:19) notes cakes were also fashioned in Jerusalem. [22]

One of the most outstanding examples of how Babylonian paganism has continued to our day may be seen in the way the Romish church invented Mary worship to replace the ancient worship of the mother goddess.

The story of the mother and child was widely known in ancient Babylon and developed into an established worship. Numerous monuments of Babylon show the goddess mother Semiramis with her child Tammuz in her arms. When the people of Babylon were scattered to the various parts of the earth, they carried the worship of the divine mother and her child with them. This explains why many nations worshipped a mother and child in one form or another centuries before the true savior, Jesus Christ, was born into this world! In the various countries where this worship spread, the mother and child were called by different names, for, we will recall, language was confused at Babel.

  • The Chinese had a mother goddess called Shing Moo or the "Holy Mother." She is pictured with child in arms and rays of glory around her head. In Egypt, the mother was known as Isis and her child as Horus. It is very common for the religious monuments of Egypt to show the infant Horus seated on the lap of his mother. The ancient Germans worshipped the virgin Hertha with child in arms. The Scandinavians called her Disa who was also pictured with a child. The Etruscans called her "Goddess Nutria", and among the Druids the Virgo-Patitura was worshipped as the "Mother of God." In India, she was known as Indrani, who was also represented with child in arms. The mother goddess was known as Aphodite or Ceres to the Greeks; Nana, to the Sumerians; and as Venus or Fortuna to her devotees in the olden days of Rome, and her child as Jupiter. At one time the mother and child were known as Devaki and Crishna. For ages, Isi, the "Great Goddess" and her child Iswara, have been worshipped in India where temples were erected for their worship. In Asia, the mother was known as Cybele and the child as Deoius (Attis?). In Ephesus, the great mother was known as Diana. The temple dedicated to her in that city was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world! Not only at Ephesus, but throughout all Asia and the world was the goddess worshipped (Acts 19:27). In Egypt, the mother was known as Isis and her child as Horus. . . . This false worship, having spread from Babylon to the various nations, in different names and forms, finally became established at Rome and throughout the Roman Empire. " [40]

"But regardless of her name or place", says one writer, "she was the wife of Baal, the virgin queen of heaven, who born fruit although she never conceived." [41]

  • When the children of Israel fell into apostasy, they too were defiled with this mother goddess worship. As we read in Judges 2:13: 'They forsook the Lord, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.': ".... One of the titles by which the goddess was known among them was 'the queen of heaven'(Jer. 44:17-19).... The prophet Jeremiah rebuked them for worshipping her.

This false worship, having spread from Babylon to the various nations, in different names and forms, finally became established at Rome and throughout the Roman Empire. Says a noted writer concerning this period: "The worship of the Great Mother (Queen of Heaven)...was ...very popular under the Roman Empire. Inscriptions prove that the two (the mother and the child) received divine honors ... not only in Italy and especially at Rome (Madonna), but also in the provinces, particularly in Africa, Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, and Bulgaria."

Hislop says that "Jesuit missionaries were astonished to find the counterpart of Madonna and her child as devoutly worshiped as in Papal Rome itself" [42]

Todo: see the main “attributes” of Ishtar / Inanna: The female form, the helmet, the weapons (arrows on the back, mace or ax in left hand), standing on a wild beast (probably a lion here). As with all ancient deities, it is essential to list those “attributes” properly as they often were the only means to identify a given god or goddess whose representations otherwise might differ widely from place to place and in time. Astarte

These are baked clay figurines of the Canaanite goddess Astoreth, holding her breasts. They were found in the grave of a Israelite woman in Bethlehem, along with a small perfume vase, a jug and a green stone pendant, These date from the time of Amos, 760 BC, whose warnings of the pagan religion permeating all of Israel went unheeded, the people turning from God to harlotry. Baal's sisters were also his wives, Asteroth was his main wife and sister. The sex act was always a part of their worship, with both male and female prostitutes. Every woman was required to serve as a prostitute in the Astoreth temple at least once in her young life. [23]
"And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth." (Judges 2:13)

Other names: Astoreth, Ashtaroth (also Ashtaroth, Astarot, and Asteroth): The name Astaroth was ultimately derived from that of 2nd millennium BC Phoenician goddess Astarte, an equivalent of the Babylonian Ishtar, and the earlier Sumerian Inanna. She is mentioned in the Hebrew Bible in the forms Ashtoreth (singular) and Ashtaroth (plural, in reference to multiple statues of her). (wikipedia). This deity is worshiped along with Chemosh/Molek and Baal

Diana

The huge temple of Artemis in Ephesus was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, measuring 150 x 80 metres.

Between 1869 and 1874, JT Wood of the British Museum excavated Ephesus, but found no trace of the temple of Artemis. He found an inscription describing the route of a procession in honour of Artemis, leaving the temple by one gate, and returning by another. He found the gates and then, from these, located the ruins of the temple in a swamp, where he found this column base.

This temple was standing when Paul brought the Gospel to Ephesus (Acts 19), so Paul actually saw this exhibit. Silversmiths made silver statues of Artemis (Diana) and were upset at their loss of trade as a result of Paul preaching the Gospel. This led to the riot in the theatre. There are more remains from Ephesus downstairs, as well as large photographs of the ruins. [24]

In Ephesus, the great mother was known as Diana. The temple dedicated to her in that city was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world! Not only at Ephesus, but throughout all Asia and the world was the goddess worshipped.

  • In the Bible: Known as "Diana", "Diana of the Ephesians" and "goddess Diana" Diana
    • Acts 19:24 In chapter 19 a silversmith named Demetrius who makes statues of Diana complains about Paul and how he is interfering with their trade to earn a living by building and selling statues of Diana "this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people". This is still done in Ephesus to this very day. The merchants try and sell statues of her to tourists!
    • Acts 19:27 So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.
    • Acts 19:28 And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.
    • Acts 19:34 But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians
    • Acts 19:35 And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana

Meteorites-cults are common in Greco-Roman civilizations. According to the religious historian Mircea Eliade, the Temple of Artemis (Diana) at Ephesus contained a squat statue of the mother-goddess, carved from a meteorite that fell from Jupiter (Acts 19:26-35). [53]

Wicca

  • Today there is a branch of Wicca named for her, which is characterized by an exclusive focus on the feminine aspect of the Divine. In some Wiccan texts Lucifer is a name used interchangeably for Diana's brother Apollo. (wikipedia)

Nimrod

See also: The Birth of Idolatry

In Gen. 10:11, already quoted, we read that Nimrod built the city of Nineveh. This little item of Bible history enables us to identify Nimrod with the king Ninus of classical writings. The name Nineveh literally means “The habitation of Ninus.” The historian Apollodorus expressly states that “Ninus is Nimrod.” (Apollodori, Fragm. 68 in Willer, Vol. i, p. 440) In the ancient records of Justin and Diodorus Siculus, Ninus is credited with similar kingly powers as are attributed to Nimrod by the Scriptures. (Justin, Hist. Rom. Script., Vol. ii, p. 615; Diodorus, Bibliotheca, lib. ii, p. 63) Ninus was the son, as well as the husband, of Semiramis. According to Eusebius these two reigned as king and queen in the time of Abraham; but the great chronologist Clinton, and the celebrated Excavator and Linguist Layard, both assign an earlier date to the reign of Ninus and Semiramis. [54]

In one of the famous sculptures of ancient Babylon, Ninus and Semiramis are represented as actively engaged in the pursuits of the chase, the “quiver-bearing Semiramis” being a fit companion for the “mighty hunter before the Lord.” Diodorus, lib. ii, p. 69

Genesis 10:8 & 1 Chronicles 1:10
"And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth."
Genesis 10:9
"He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD."
Micah 5:6
"And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders."
  • Various notes:
    • Nimrod was the Bel, Belus, or Baal, i.e. lord of Babel, its founder. Worshipped (as the monuments testify) as Bilu Nipra or Bel Nimrod, i.e, the god of the chase; the Talmudical Nopher, now Niffer. Josephus (Ant. 1:4) and the tortures represent him as building, in defiance of Jehovah, the Babel tower. [55]
    • Nimrod was known as the god of the Chaldean Mysteries. That name, as we have seen, was Saturn. Saturn and Mystery are both Chaldean words, and they are correlative terms. As Mystery signifies the Hidden system, so Saturn signifies the Hidden god. [56]

    • Narmer
      • Narmer (Ancient Egyptian - "Striker") was an Egyptian pharaoh who ruled in the 32nd century BC. Thought to be the successor to the pre-dynastic Serket, he is considered by some to be the founder of the First dynasty. It is thought by many archaeologists that Serket is actually identical with Narmer. Narmer's name is represented phonetically by the hieroglyphic symbol for a catfish (n'r) and that of a chisel (mr). Other modern variants of his name include "Narmeru" or "Merunar", but convention uses "Narmer". Like other First Dynasty Kings, his name is a single word ("The Striker") and may be shorthand for "Horus is the Striker". [57]
      • The name Narmer has been found all over Egypt including the local vicinities of Tarkhan to the South of Memphis, the Helwan cemeteries excavated by Zaki Y. Saad, immediately to the East and in the subterranean eastern shaft of Djoser's Step pyramid complex at Saqqara. Obviously he was remembered with some reverence in the area.
        • Narmer's Palette: The southern king Narmer (perhaps the legendary Menes) wins a victory over the northern king which is immortalized by Narmer's Palette. The famous Narmer Palette, discovered in 1898 in Hierakonpolis, shows Narmer displaying the insignia of both Upper and Lower Egypt, giving rise to the theory that he unified the two kingdoms. Traditionally, Menes is credited with that unification, and he is listed as being the first pharaoh in Manetho's list of kings, so this find has caused some controversy. Some Egyptologists hold that Menes and Narmer are in fact the same person; some hold that Menes is the same person with Horus Akha (aka. Hor-Aha) and he inherited an already-unified Egypt from Narmer; others hold that Narmer began the process of unification but either did not succeed or succeeded only partially, leaving it to Menes to complete. [58]
    • Ninus
      • Sammu-ramat (Greek Semiramis, flourished 9th century bc, Assyrian queen who became a legendary heroine.) was the mother of the Assyrian king Adad-nirari III (reigned 810–783 bc). Her stela (memorial stone shaft) has been found at Ashur, while an inscription at Calah (Nimrūd) shows her to have been dominant there after the death of her husband, Shamshi-Adad V (823–811 bc). Sammu-ramat was mentioned by Herodotus, and the later historian Diodorus Siculus elaborated a whole legend about her. According to him (Diodorus Siculus), she was born of a goddess, and, after being married to an Assyrian officer, she captivated the king Ninus by her beauty and valour and became his wife. Soon afterward, when Ninus died, Sammu-ramat assumed power and reigned for many years. In that time she built Babylon and turned to the conquest of distant lands. [59]

        • The KJV and Septuagint (LXX) translations of Genesis 10:11 give the impression that "Asshur" is an individual, but in most modern Bible versions "Asshur" is translated as "Assyria"—a place. They generally read, "From that land he (Nimrod) went to Assyria, where he built Ninevah..." The fact is that "Asshur" can be read either as an individual or as the region of Assyria—we just don't know for sure and the text alone does not prove either case. However, because the name "Asshur" is not modified by the preposition el or the directional heh (thus giving either "el Asshur" or "Asshurah"), which would confirm "Asshur" as a place, it remains a distinct possibility that Asshur is meant to be understood as an individual and as another name for Nimrod.
          • "And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD. And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah, And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city." [60]
    • Hammurabi
    • Amraphel king of Shinar
      • His "kingdom" comprised Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Sinar, otherwise known as the land of Nimrod (Gen. x. 8-10; I Chron. i. 10; Micah v. 5 [A. V. 6]) [61]
        • After the builders of the tower were dispersed Nimrod remained in Shinar, where he reestablished his kingdom. According to the "Sefer ha-Yashar" (l.c.), he at this time acquired the name "Amraphel" in allusion to the fall of his princes () during the dispersion. According to the Targum of pseudo-Jonathan (to Gen. x. 11), however, Nimrod had left Babylonia before the building of the tower, and had gone to Assyria, where he built four other cities, namely, Nineveh, Rehobot, Calah, and Resen [62]

Baal

Temple of Baalat Gebal: This is the oldest temple in Byblos, dating back to the fourth century B.C. It was rebuilt after being ravaged by fire during Amorite rule. The temple was leveled again and a new temple was built later. Another ancient name for Byblos was Jbail, a combination of the name of the Phoenician God Baal (to whom this temple is dedicated) and Gebil or the spring that supplied the area with water.
Ba'al Ugaritic God of Storms & War 14th century BCE [26]
A bronze model of Palestine's fertility god, controlling the rain, and the lightning. The god, El was too remote to know and worship. So El's son, Baal, was worshipped, here shown as a warrior with horns, lightning in the right hand and a club of thunder in the left.

The prophet Elijah challenged the worship of Baal when he declared, “As the LORD the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word.” (1 Kg 17:1). The people were left with a choice: Is Baal or Yahweh the true god of the rains? Later, on Mt Carmel, Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal to demonstrate that Baal was the true God by bringing fire down from heaven (lightning). You will call on the name of your god (Baal) and I will call on the name of the LORD; the god who answers by fire is indeed God (1 Kg 18:24). [27]

The inharmonious result of looking upon the outer world as real and as the source of all life, understanding, and existence, instead of seeing formless Spirit (Divine Mind) as the true God and as the one reality standing back of all manifestation--this is what is suggested in the phrase "judgment of God". • (1) The name of a mountain peak (Num. 23:28) to which Balak led Balaam as a last effort to induce him to pronounce a curse upon Israel. The tribes of Israel are described as being visible from the peak, but nevertheless, Balaam refused to curse them, and continued to offer blessings (Num. 24:1-9). Peor is similar to the Egyptian Pi-Hor ("House of Horus").
          • (2) A reference to a divinity who was worshipped at that mountain peak, and, biblically, was the subject of the heresy of Peor. The divinity, worshipped by the Moabites, is biblically referred to as Baal-peor (Num. 25:3,5, Num. 25:18; comp. Deut. 3:29), literally meaning the Baal of Peor. An ancient Aramaic inscription, found at Dier Alla, identifies Balaam as a prophet of Shamash, a semitic sun-god, and consequently, it could well be the case that the unidentified Baal of Peor is Shamash (a Sun God). If Peor's connection to Pi-Hor is factual, then the Baal of Peor may be the Egyptian god Horus.

(Paradise Lost, I.412-14) His deeds are described in the first book of the epic, as Milton describes Satan's followers who were banished from Heaven, and have pledged themselves as followers of the underworld.

        • The "Bel-Fire" or "Bel-tane" rites and games which still survive in many parts of the British Isles are generally recognized to be vestiges of a former widely prevalent worship of "Bel" in these islands, extending from St. Michael's Mount in Cornwall to Shetland, which is now seen to have been introduced by the Phoenicians, and to be a survival of the great solar festival celebrations at the Summer solstice. The name "Bel-tane" or "Bel-tine" means literally "Bel's Fire." {"Bel-tane" or "Bel-tine" is defined by old Scottish, Irish and Gaelic writers as "Fire of the god Bil or Bial or Bel." Thus the Irish king Cormac at the beginning of the tenth century A.D. describes "Bil-tene" as Lucky Fire, and defines Bil or Bial as "an idol god." (Cormac's Glossary, ed. Stokes, 19, 38); and Keating states "Bel-tainni is the same as Beil-teine, that is, teine Bheil or Bel's Fire." Its second element Tan in Breton and Tane, Tine or Tene, means "Fire" in Scottish and Irish Scottish with variant Teind or Tynd, "a spark of Fire " (J.S.D., 38, 564) and Eddic Gothic Tandr, "to light or kindle Fire," thus showing Gothic origin of English "Tinder." This Tan or Tene seems to be derived from the Akkadian Tenu for the Crossed Fire-producing sticks (M.D. 1176) with meaning also "to grind [firewood]," ib. The Breton form of the name for Bel-Fire of Tan-Heol is the same Tan (Fire) transposed + Heol, "the Sun" or Bil.} The rite of Bel-Fire now surviving in the British Isles is mostly a mere game performed by boys and young people on Midsummer eve in the remoter parts of the country. On a moor, a circle is cut on the turf sufficient to hold the company and a bonfire is lit inside, and torches are waved round the head (presumably in sunwise direction, see later) while dancing round the fire; after which the individuals leap through the flames or glowing embers. {Such a game was practised in the writer's boyhood in the West of Scotland. And Mr. S. Laing, the archaeologist, who was born in 1810, writes with reference to these Bel-Fires lighted on the highest hills of Orkney and Shetland. "As a boy, I have rushed with my playmates through the smoke of these bonfires without a suspicion that we were repeating the homage paid to Baal." (Human Origins, 1897, 161.)} [69]
        • This is the festival of the fire God Bel. Bel has been worshipped under many names in all parts of the world for thousands of years; Bel, Beli, Balar, Balor, Belenus, Baal, and Belial. Traditionally, Beltane would be the night on which the old hearth fires were extinguished and the new were kindled from the Bel fire. These fires were placed on the top of hills and produced a chain of beacons which ran across the land. Cattle would be driven between the fires and people would leap over them to ensure fertility for the coming season. [70]
      • Fertility rites
        • In times past, the Maypole would be central to the Beltane celebrations - a tall pole surmounted by a circlet of flowers which would descend as the ribbons were wound tight by the dancers. This symbol of sexual union would be hard to mistake. Those who had not yet found a partner would seek one at the Beltane rites, wearing green to announce their intentions [71]

Moloch

A detailed, late description of Moloch's image says that it was hollow, and was provided with seven receptacles, in which were deposited the different offerings of the worshippers. Into the first was put an offering of fine flour; in the second an offering of turtle doves; into the third a sheep; into the fourth a ram; into the fifth a calf; into the sixth an ox; and into the seventh a child, which was consumed in the image. (It is because of this, Moloch is associated with Mithras and his seven mysterious gates with seven chambers)
"Now, we have to remember that Siva [Shiva] and the Palestinian Baal, Moloch, and Saturn are identical..." Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, Isis Unveiled, Vol 1, 1877, p. 578
  • Moloch the God Baal, the Bull of the Sun, was widely worshipped in the ancient Near East and wherever Carthaginian culture extended. Baal Moloch was conceived under the form of a calf or an ox or depicted as a man with the head of a bull.
  • Moloch has been identified with Milcom, with the Tyrian god Melqart, with the Carthaginian Ba‘al Hammon to whom children were purportedly sacrificed, with the Assyrian/Babylonian Malik, and at Palmyra Malach-bel and with any other god called 'Lord' (Ba‘al) or (Bel), the sun god of the Ammonites in old Palestine and the Sumerian Baal. These various suggested equations combined with the popular solar theory hypotheses of the day generated a single theoretical sun god Baal.[73]

The name Moloch

  • 'Hadad', 'Baal' or simply 'the King' identified the god within his cult. The name Moloch is not the name he was known by among his worshippers, but a Hebrew translation. The written form Moloch (in the Septuagint Greek translation of the Old Testament), or Molech (Hebrew), is specifically Melech or ‘king’, tranformed by reading it with the vowels of bosheth or ‘shameful thing’. In a similar way Beelzebub was transformed by vowel substitutions into the Lord of the Flies. He is sometimes also called Milcom in the Old Testament.

Moloch cult

  • Among the rituals in the worship of Moloch was the 'taking up of the tabernacle' of Moloch, in which the god's image, under a portable canopy, was paraded. This was a widespread practice, in Babylon and elsewhere, wherever the spirit of a god was felt to reside in the deity's image or idol. It was also customary to consecrate chariots and horses to Moloch.

Child sacrifice

  • Religious infanticide historically was widespread among the peoples of the Eastern Mediterranean region, but in the cult of Moloch is the best known. In many instances the bodies of children were burnt as sacrifices.
Psalm 106:37-38
"Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils, And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood."
Deuteronomy 12:29-32
"Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods. "
  • In the kingdom of Judah, children were wont to be sacrificed to Moloch in a valley of the sons of Hinnom, which received also the name of the Valley of Tophet.

Artist depiction of Moloch. Talmudic tradition asserts the image of Moloch to have been made of brass, and to have been represented sitting on a brazen throne, adorned with a royal crown, having the head of a calf, and his arms extended to receive his youthful victims.

Paul G. Mosca, in his thesis described below, translates Cleitarchus' paraphrase of a scholia to Plato's Republic as:

There stands in their midst a bronze statue of Kronos, its hands extended over a bronze brazier, the flames of which engulf the child. When the flames fall upon the body, the limbs contract and the open mouth seems almost to be laughing until the contracted body slips quietly into the brazier. Thus it is that the 'grin' is known as 'sardonic laughter,' since they die laughing.

Diodorus Siculus (20.14) wrote:

There was in their city a bronze image of Cronus extending its hands, palms up and sloping toward the ground, so that each of the children when placed thereon rolled down and fell into a sort of gaping pit filled with fire.

Diodorus also relates that relatives were forbidden to weep and that when Agathocles defeated Carthage, the Carthaginian nobles believed they had displeased the gods by substituting low-born children for their own children. They attempted to make amends by sacrificing 200 children of the best families at once, and in their enthusiasm actually sacrificed 300 children.

Plutarch wrote in De Superstitiones 171:

... the whole area before the statue was filled with a loud noise of flutes and drums so that the cries of wailing should not reach the ears of the people.

Extent of the Moloch cult

Burial Urn with charred remains of infant
  • The god Baal variously named, sometimes with combined forms, was widely worshipped in the ancient near east.
  • The Phoenicians of Tyre extended the worship of Baal/Moloch in the particular Tyrian manifestation Baal Melkart, ('the Baal (king) of the city') to Phoenician colonies around the Mediterranean, the greatest of which was Carthage in North Africa.
  • Moloch was worshiped among the Sepharvites as Adrammelech and Anammelech, and by the Moabites and Ammonites.
  • In Minoan Crete, the Minotaur, the monstrous bull-headed creature at the center of the Labyrinth that consumed sacrificed youths, and which was overcome by Theseus, should perhaps be connected with Moloch.
Burial urn from the 7th century B.C. with small votive vase along with cremated remains of a child.
  • Moloch, 'the king' was even worshiped by the Hebrews, until the destruction of all the idols by Josiah in 622/21 BCE. Solomon built an altar to Molech (1 Kings 11:7), and Manasseh sacrificed his son, by making him “pass through the fire,” as did King Ahaz. Not every combined form of melech ('king') in a name links an individual with Moloch, however (cf Abimelech).
  • The strenuous energy that had to be put into the interdiction of child sacrifice that had been practiced among the earliest Israelites is reflected in the episode of Abraham and Isaac in the Book of Genesis. The gruesome rites associated with Moloch are again expressly forbidden under pain of death in
Leviticus 20:1-5
“And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones. And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name. And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not: Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people.”
  • In various other passages of the Law of Moses, the Israelites were forbidden to dedicate their children to Moloch, by causing them to “pass through the fire”, an expression the precise meaning of which is mooted by scholars.
  • It is plain from various passages of the prophets, that the sacrifices of children among the Jews before captivity, which are commonly known as sacrifices to Moloch, were not presented at the temple, but consumed outside the city at Tophet in the ravine below the temple.
Jeremiah 7:31,
“And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart.”
Jeremiah 19:5,
“They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings to Baal, which I commanded them not, nor spake it, neither came it into my mind.”
  • From Isaiah it appears that Tophet means a pyre, such as is prepared for a king. Later, however, the name Tophet was construed to refer to the sounds of the drums and cymbals that accompanied the sacrifice of children. Compare the role of the Korybantes in Crete, shaking their spears and clashing their shields, drowning out the cries of the infant Zeus when his cannibal father sought him out, aiming to consume him— like a Moloch. [74]

Tammuz

This golden child in the Vatican treasury, like so many other images of the child in Roman Catholic churches, is reminiscent of the ancient worship of Tammuz as a child. Born on Dec.25, he represented the rebirth of the sun. As a pagan god-child, he was called "Baal-berith," or lord of the fir-tree. The word "yule" is a Babylonian word for infant. Dec.25 was called by the pagan Anglo-Saxons, Yule Day.

Both the Egyptian and Persians celebrated the birthday of their god on Dec.25th. Other names applied to the sun-god as a child are Mithras, Horus, Isvara, Deoius, Jupiter, Plutus, Ninus, Osiris, Dionysus, Bacchus, Iacchus, Adonis, Attis, etc. All myths of child worship are a reflection of ancient Babylonian customs. [33]
Ezekiel 8:14 "Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD's house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz."
"Tam" means "perfect"; "Muz" means "by burning". (15) This shows that the idea of purification by fire has its roots in the Babylonian worship of Nimrod. - The Babylonian Roots of Catholicism

(todo)

  • Tammuz (Hebrew month)
    • After Nimrod died, according to the Babylonian tradition, his wife Semiramis bore a son whom she named Tammuz. She claimed that Tammuz was Nimrod reborn, the son of the sun god. This was a satanic deception of the promise of a coming Savior in Genesis 3:15: "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shall bruise his heel." The resurrection of Tammuz was, of course, another part of the satanic lie. Semiramis claimed that her son was supernaturally conceived, so the mother was worshipped as well as the child. Many of the Jews in Babylon accepted, at least in part, this satanic religion, and one of the Jewish months is Tammuz. We read in Ezekiel 8:14-15, "Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the Lord's house which was toward the north; and behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz. Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, 0 son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shall see greater abominations than these. " [75]
    • According to the commentators of the Koran, Nimrod, the Babylonian king, who cast victims in his annual bon-fires at Cuthah, died on the eighth day of the Tammuz month, which, according to the Syrian calendar, fell on 13th July. - G. Sale, Koran, Page 246. [76]
    • Tammuz was a Syrian and Phoenician god of fertility, venerated in the worship of idols and elaborate, extreme rituals. The Greeks adopted Tammuz as one of their prominent deities, changing his name to Adonis. Ezekiel lists the worship of Tammuz as one of the abominations in God's sight ( 8:1-18 ) that was being practiced in the temple precincts in Jerusalem. The chanting of a litany of woes (or, singing a song, of lamentation see Ezek 8:14 ) shows that the cult of Tammuz was active in Jerusalem. [77]

Adonis

  • From a book entitled, Dictionary of Ancient Deities, we find that Adonis, Adon, Adonai, and Adonay are all the same which mean “lord”; and in the Old Testament, the word Adonai is subsituted for the Hebrew tetragram, YHWH! The gods Tammuz (Adonis) and Osiris were associated with fertility and both were killed by boars (swine)! [78]
  • Adonai, is the name used for one of the prayers for evocations in The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage
"ADONAI, ELOHIM, EL, EHEIEH ASHER EHEIEH, Prince of Princes, Existence of Existences, have mercy upon me, and cast Thine eyes upon Thy servant (N.) who invoketh Thee most devoutly, and supplicateth Thee by Thy Holy and tremendous Name, Tetragrammaton, to be propitious and to order Thine Angels and Spirits to come and take up their abode in this place; O ye Angels and Spirits of the Stars, O all ye Angels and Elementary Spirits, O all ye Spirits present before the Face of" (Examples of other methods of angelic invocation p. xlvii)

Dagon

DAGON is the father of BAAL indicating that DAGON is the Canaanite equivalent to the Sumerian moon god SUEN. The first reference to the worship of the god DAGON is found in the inscriptions of Sargon of Akkad (a Semitic kingdom) dating to 2,200 BC and located in the middle Mesopotamian region around the city of Mari. Consequently, the god DAGON originated out of the northern Semitic tradition and not out of the Sumerian tradition. The Bible reports that the at least some Philistines adopted DAGON as one of their gods in the cities of Ashdod, Beth-shan, and perhaps Gaza. [79]

  • The Semitic root of DAGON is "dgn" meaning grain. Dagonis mentioned in the Bible as follows:
Judges 16:23: Now the lords of the Philistines gathered to offer a great sacrifice to their god DAGON, and to rejoice; for they said, "Our god has given Samson our enemy into our hand."
1 Samuel 5:1-3: When the Philistines captured the ark of God, they brought it from Ebenezer to Ashdod; then the Philistines took the ark of God and brought it into the house of DAGON and placed it beside DAGON. When the people of Ashdod rose early the next day, there was DAGON, fallen on his face to the ground before the ark of the YAHWEH. So they took DAGON and put him back in his place.
1 Chronicles 10:10: They (the Philistines) put his (King Saul's) armor in the temple of their gods, and fastened his head in the temple of DAGON.

Dagon was one of the most widely worshipped deities in the ancient near east. Sargon the Great worshipped Dagon after his military victories. The cities of Mari, Tuttul and Teqra contained temples to Dagon, and he is well attested to in the Mari archives. In the Holy Land Dagon appears as a principal god of the Philistines with temples at Gaza, Beth Shan and Ashdod. The meaning of Dagon’s name and his specific function are not entirely clear. Some connect his name with wheat or fish but he has also been associated with military power as well. [80]

  • Temple of Dagon
    • The Philistines took the Ark to several places in their country, and at each place misfortune befell them (1 Sam. 5:1-6). At Ashdod it was placed in the temple of Dagon. The next morning Dagon was found prostrate, bowed down, before it; and on being restored to his place, he was on the following morning again found prostrate and broken. The people of Ashdod were smitten with tumors; a plague of rats was sent over the land (1 Sam. 6:5). The affliction of boils was also visited upon the people of Gath and of Ekron, whither the Ark was successively removed (1 Sam. 5:8-12). (wikipedia)

Hermes

The satyr-like Greek god of nature, shepherds and flocks, Pan, was the son of Hermes through the nymph Dryope. In the Homeric Hymn to Pan, Pan's mother fled in fright from her newborn son's goat-like appearance [88]

  • Various notes:
    • Hermes is one of the twelve Olympian gods (the "Dodekatheon"), which were the principal gods of the Greek pantheon, residing atop Mount Olympus. Hermes was the god of boundaries and of the travelers who cross them, of shepherds and cowherds, of thieves and road travelers, of orators and wit, of literature and poets, of athletics, of weights and measures, of invention, of general commerce, and of the imagineing of thieves and liars. His symbols include the tortoise (patience/time/wisdom?), the rooster (sun symbolism/primordial intellect), the winged sandals (spiritual/enlightenment), and the caduceus (priesthood magic). The analogous Roman deity is Mercury. [89] (adapted)
    • In Etruscan mythology, Turms was the equivalent of Greek Hermes, god of trade and the messenger god between people and gods.
    • In Roman mythology, Mercury was a messenger, and a god of trade, profit and commerce, the son of Maia Maiestas and Jupiter. His name is related to the Latin word merx ("merchandise"; compare merchant, commerce, etc.).

    • Min (god). This egyptian god Min was a fertility dark-skinned god depicted with an erected penis and a flail. Also know as Khem or Min, he was the god of reproduction; as Khnum, he was the creator of all things, "the maker of gods and men". His cult was strongest in Coptos and Akhmim (Panopolis). As the central deity of fertility and possibly orgiastic rites Min became identified by the Greeks with the god Pan. (Wikipedia)

Hall, Secret of the ages
    • Pan (Greek Πάν, genitive Πανός) is the Greek god of shepherds and flocks, of mountain wilds, hunting and rustic music: paein means to pasture. He has the hindquarters, legs, and horns of a goat, in the same manner as a faun or satyr. He is recognized as the god of fields, groves, and wooded glens; because of this, Pan is connected to fertility and season of spring.
    • Pan's ancient Roman equivalent was Faunus, and they were both horned god deities. For this reason he is popular among many Neopagans and occultic groups.
    • "It is likely that the demonized images of the incubus and even the horns and cloven hooves of Satan, as depicted in much medieval and post-medieval Christian literature and art, were taken from the images of Pan." [90]

Mars

  • God Mars was the Roman god of war, and was later identified with the Greek god Ares. The legends about him are mainly a transposition of the Greek ones, that's why he is considered son of Juno and Jupiter. The month of March was dedicated to (and named after) Mars, that's why he was also considered the god of spring - but the beginning of spring also meant the beginning of the war campaigns. He was also celebrated in October, the month when the war campaign was over, and the weapons were purified and stored. [92]

Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. Lucifer is a Cherubim

Be sober, be vigilant and do good things; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (1 Pet 5.8)

According to Bill Schnoebelen in his Luciferian Initiation, Lucifer is a Cherubim, out of the 5 angels carrying the throne of God, he was the one on top of God ("O covering cherub" Ezekiel 28:16). Cherubim In Biblical cosmology : Winged creatures who support the Throne of God, or act as guardian spirits. They appear in the Bible in the book of Ezekiel, as bearing the throne and chariot of God, and hence later conceived as a type of angels. [94])

    • The cherubim (Winged Bull) in the Bible seem to be a composite animal similar to the sphinx of Egypt. In Ezekiel chapter one these creatures have combined features of humans, lions, bulls, and eagles. The attributes of God were expressed in concrete terms, like the strength of the lion procreative power of the bull, the swiftness of an eagle, and the wisdom of man to show God's omnipotence and omniscience. There are several carvings of what seems to be cherubim that have been found (BAR 21:4, pp.36-41). [95]
    • Cherubim have four faces: one of each a man, an ox, a lion, and a eagle. They have four conjoined wings covered with eyes, and they have ox's feet. Cherubim guard the way to the tree of life in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:24) and the throne of God (Ezekiel 28:14-16).
    • The cherubim are mentioned in Genesis 3:24; Exodus 25:17-22; 2 Chronicles 3:7-14; Ezekiel 1:10; Ezekiel 10:12–14, Ezekiel 28:14-16; 1 Kings 6:23–28; and Revelation 4:6-8.

Various Notes:

  • Modern English usage has blurred the distinction between cherubim and putti. Putti are the winged human baby/toddler-like beings traditionally used in figurative art.

The many names/Titles of the Devil

The many names/Titles of the Devil: As long as you worship someone/something else than Jehovah, it is Ok for the evil

In the Bible, the Hebraic text in Isaiah 14:12 refers to Helel Ben Shachar or Heylel Ben-Shachar (הילל בן שחר) . Helel Ben-Schachar is translated into English as “O shining star, son of the dawn!" ("O Lucifer, son of the morning" in the KJV) The name Lucifer is a translation of Helel Ben-Shachar into Latin by St. Jerome in the fourth century. Lucifer derives from two Latin words, lux (light) and fero (to bear–to bring), meaning light-bearer, light-bringer. The Bible identifies Lucifer as Devil, Satan, serpent, dragon, dweller of hell and other names.

  • Satan (Old Testament) is a Hebrew word meaning "adversary," as "one to lie in wait"; hence, "the snares of the devil." In the New Testament, Satan is referred to under the name "Devil" (Greek: diabolos), meaning "accuser, slanderer." In Hebrew שׂטן satan or śāṭān, or Aramaic שׂטנא satana means "accuser, adversary.").
  • Satan is the central embodiment of evil. Satan is also commonly known as the Devil, the "Prince of Darkness", Beelzebub, Mephistopheles, Lucifer, Luzbel, Helelel and Rachelle. In the Talmud and some works of Kabbalah Satan is sometimes called Samael ; however most Jewish literature is of the opinion that Samael is a separate angel. In the fields of angelology and demonology these different names sometimes refer to a number of different angels and demons. In Islam, Satan is known as Iblis, who was the chief of the angels until he disobeyed Allah by refusing to prostrate himself before Adam. [96]
  • The name The Devil: The word "Devil" is not used in the Old Testament. It is Abaddon in Hebrew (Revelation 9:11), Apollyon in Greek, meaning "destroyer." The Devil is the name given to a supernatural entity who, in most Western religions, is the central embodiment of evil. This entity is also commonly referred to by a variety of names, including (ha)Satan, Lucifer, Mephistopheles and Beelzebub. In classic demonology, these alternate names sometime refer to a separate supernatural entities or personalities.
  • “Satan" and "Devil" are two names used in the Scriptures, but there are a great number of others familiar to all Bible readers, namely: "the accuser of our brethren," "the evil one," "deceiver," "murderer," "father of lies" (John 8:44), "Beelzebub," "Belial," "tempter," "great dragon," "serpent," "prince of demons" (Matthew 12:24), and at least forty such titles are attributed to the fallen angel Lucifer [97]. Other names for Satan: king of Tyrus; "Prince of the power of the air" in Ephesians 2:2; "god of this world" 2 Corinthians 4:4; "king of Babylon" Isaiah 14:4 [98]; as Leviathan in Job 41, as "The Ruler of this world" (John 12:31, John 14:30, John 16:11), "Ruler of the Darkness" (Ephesians 6:12), "Lying spirit" (1 Kings 22:22)
  • The infernal names
  • Baphomet - Goat of Mendes
  • Chronos
    • KHRONOS (or Chronus) was the Protogenos (primeval god) of time, a divinity who emerged self-formed at the beginning of creation in the Orphic cosmogonies. Khronos was imagined as an incorporeal god, serpentine in form, with three heads--that of a man, a bull, and a lion. He and his consort, serpentine Ananke (Inevitability), circled the primal world-egg in their coils and split it apart to form the ordered universe of earth, sea and sky. Khronos and Ananke continued to circle the cosmos after creation-their passage driving the circling of heaven and the eternal passage of time. The figure of Khronos was essentially a cosmological doubling of the Titan Kronos (also "Father Time"). The Orphics occasionally combined Khronos with their creator-god Phanes, and identified him with Ophion. His equivalent in the Phoenician cosmogony was probably Olam (Eternal Time), or Oulomos, as his name appears in Greek transcriptions. Khronos was represented in Greco-Roman mosaic as Aion, "eternity" personified. He stands against the sky holding a wheel inscribed with the signs of the zodiac. Beneath his feet Gaia (Mother Earth) is usually seen reclining. The poet Nonnus describes Aion as an old man with long white hair and beard. Mosaics, however, present a youthful figure. [99]

What is the basic plan of Satan

"Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness..." 2 Cor.11:14-15
"We know [positively] that we are of God, and the whole world [around us] is under the power of the evil one." - 1 John 5:19 Amplified Bible (AMP)

Some people mistakenly imagine that the Satan must want to destroy all belief in the supernatural world, and to render everyone one on earth an Atheist! Nothing could be further from the truth. Satan wants an increase in the belief in the spiritual world, but he wants to substitute himself as `God` in place of the real God. He wants to establish himself as the ruler over thrones on the earth, dominions, principalities, and powers and to rush through the time when the whole world will worship himself as God come in the flesh. Satan wants to set himself up in the very temple of God in Jerusalem - as GOD. (11 Thess. 2:4) Satan wants full recognition as God, and to be in absolute rule in the flesh, on earth. [100]

  • Spiritual War [101]
    • "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12
  • Make us Sin
    • “...do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place [lest you give a foothold] to the devil." Ephesians 4:26-27
    • "Therefore submit to God.' Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands [REPENT], you sinners; and purify your hearts.... Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up." James 4:7:10

Luciferianism

“The Jesuit General, and the other high Jesuit Generals, they are sorcerers. They are Luciferians, and they worship what they would call Lucifer. They do not believe in Satan. They believe in Lucifer.” The Black Pope: Interview of Eric Jon Phelps VaticanAssassins.com

Luciferian Philosophy: Their religion is based upon the Kabbalah, the Luciferian Philosophy, and the (exoteric) worship of the Sun (See: Occult symbolism: Sun). They are not bound by any oath or allegiance except their own. They are loyal to no government or people but their own. And they are Citizens of no country but their already in place secret world government. The Philosophy of the Mystery Schools is the Luciferian Philosophy as espoused by General Albert Pike, one of the founders of the KKK.

Very simply the Luciferian philosophy is:
”Adam and Eve were held prisoner in the bonds of ignorance by an unjust and vindictive God in the Garden of Eden. They were set free from their chains (through ”Primordial Knowing/Intellect”) by Lucifer (Prometheus) through his agent Satan in the guise of a serpent (ancient symbol of Wisdom) with the gift of Intellect (Fire). Through the use of his intellect man will perfect the race (Anglo/Aryan) and will himself become God (promise of Satan to Adam and Eve).” (See Genesis 3:1-5)

Any religion, church, organization, or People who believe they are God, will become God, or are becoming God, is practicing the Luciferian philosophy of the Mystery Schools, and are acting in furtherance of the conspiracy. The Luciferian philosophy is a metaphor for the development of the perfected man (Marxist/Leninist) through the process of evolution by learning how to dominate and control nature (called science). The result (they say) will be the apotheosis of the race of mankind and the elimination of all who cannot make this paradigm shift in the coming New Age. Lucifer standing for intellect to dominate the lesser. The right of those who have intellect to dominate the lesser man.

"The Apocalypse is, to those who receive the nineteenth Degree, the Apotheosis of that Sublime Faith which aspires to God alone, and despises all the pomps and works of Lucifer. LUCIFER, the Light-bearer! Strange and mysterious name to give to the Spirit of Darkness! Lucifer, the Son of the Morning! Is it he who bears the Light, and with its splendors intolerable blinds feeble, sensual, or selfish Souls? Doubt it not! for traditions are full of Divine Revelations and Inspirations: and Inspiration is not of one Age nor of one Creed. Plato and Philo, also, were inspired." Albert Pike, Morals and Dogma of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, p. 321 , 19th Degree of Grand Pontiff.
"The day has come when Fellow Craftsman must know and apply their knowledge. The lost key to their grade is the mastery of emotion , which places the energy of the universe at their disposal. Man can only expect to be entrusted with great power by proving his ability to use it constructively and selflessly. When the Mason learns that the key to the warrior on the block is the proper application of the dynamo of living power, he has learned the mystery of his Craft. The seething energies of LUCIFER are in his hands, and before he may step onward and upward, he must prove his ability to properly apply energy. He must follow in the footsteps of his forefather, TUBAL-CAIN, who with the mighty strength of the war god hammered his sword into a plowshare." (Manly P. Hall, 33rd Degree, K.T., The Lost Keys of Freemasonry or The Secret of Hiram Abiff p. 48) , Forward by Reynold E. Blight, 33rd Degree, K.T., Illustrations by J. "I hereby promise the Great Spirit Lucifuge, Prince of Demons, that each year I will bring unto him a human soul to do with as as it may please him, and in return Lucifuge promises to bestow upon me the treasures of the earth and fulfill my every desire for the length of my natural life. If I fail to bring him each year the offering specified above, then my own soul shall be forfeit to him. Signed..... { Invocant signs pact with his own blood } " 'The Secret Teaching Of All Ages' by Manly Palmer Hall 33° p. 104
"What is more absurd and more impious than to attribute the name of Lucifer to the devil, that is, to personified evil. The intellectual Lucifer is the spirit of intelligence and love; it is the paraclete, it is the Holy Spirit, while the physical Lucifer is the great agent of universal magnetism." [The Mysteries Of Magic' page-428.]
She wrote occult classics entitled "The Secret Doctrine" and "Isis Unveiled" which state:
"It is Satan who is the God of our planet and the only God. Lucifer represents... Life... Thought... Progress... Civilization... Liberty... Independance... Lucifer is the Logos...the Serpent, the Savior". on pages 171, 225, 255 (Volume II). [102]
"One of the most hidden secrets involves the so-called fall of Angels. Satan and his rebellious host will thus prove to have become the direct Saviours and Creators of divine man. Thus Satan, once he ceases to be viewed in the superstitious spirit of the church, grows into the grandiose image. It is Satan who is the God of our planet and the only God. Satan (or Lucifer) represents the Centrifugal Energy of the Universe, this ever-living symbol of self-sacrifice for the intellectual independence of humanity." pages 215, 216, 220, 245, 255, 533, (VI) [103] [104]
"The Celestial Virgin which thus becomes the Mother of Gods and Devils at one and the same time; for she is the ever-loving beneficent Deity...but in antiquity and reality Lucifer or Luciferius is the name. Lucifer is divine and terrestial Light, 'the Holy Ghost' and "Satan' at one and the same time." page 539 (Volume?)[105]
"Lucifer is divine and terrestrial light, the “Holy Ghost” and “Satan,” at one and the same time, visible Space being truly filled with the differentiated Breath invisibly; and the Astral Light, the manifested effects of the two who are one, guided and attracted by ourselves, is the Karma of humanity, both a personal and impersonal entity: personal, because it is the mystic name given by St. Martin to the Host of divine Creators, guides and rulers of this planet; impersonal, as the Cause and effect of universal Life and Death." [106]
She wrote "The perfect way; or The finding of Christ" which state: Among the Gods is none like unto him...Many names hath God given him...Stand in awe...speak his name with trembling...blessed and sanctified is the Angel of Hades, Satan. [107]
"Lucifer prepares man in all ways for the experience of Christhood and the Christ prepares man for the experience of God. But the light that reveals to us the presence of the Christ comes from Lucifer . He is the light giver. He is aptly named the Morning Star because it is his light that heralds for man the dawn of a greater consciousness. He is present when that dawn is realized ... Christ is the same force as Lucifer, but moving in seemingly the opposite direction'".(Dr. Burns, quoting David Spangler, "Finding Heaven On Earth", New Age Journal, January/February 1988, Vol. 4, Issue 1, reprinted in "Masonic And Occult Symbols Illustrated", p. 188).[108]
Spangler understands the deeper meanings of occult initiation. In the Reflections on the Christ, he explains that Lucifer is the "great initiator." Amazingly, he calls for a literal Luciferic initiation as a means of propelling mankind into the evolutionary New Age:
"Lucifer comes to give to us the final gift of wholeness. If we accept it then he is free and we are free. This is the Luciferic initiation. It is one that many people now, and in the days ahead, will be facing, for it is an initiation in the New Age." (Reflections on the Christ, p. 45)[109]
David Spangler, who is very closely connected with and allied to this project (Planetary Initiative For The World We Choose, has defined the initiation in his book Reflections on the Christ as being “Luciferic.” This is probably the most honest statement that anyone inside the project has ever made! [110]
All who wish to enter the New Age must undergo an "energy activation" or "rebirth", usually marked by a subjective trance-induced "light experience" where one meets either a "spirit guide" or one's "higher self" (no difference since all is one). The resulting "altered state of consciousness" will eventually lead to a "Luciferic initiation" into the "new humanity", or a submission to Lucifer as the leading divinity representing the Logos. This event is anticipated and discussed by many New Age leaders.
David Spangler, Lorian Association, Reflections on the Christ, Findhorn Publications p. 40, 44-45, Interconnections
“Christ is the same force as Lucifer but moving in seemingly the opposite direction. Lucifer moves in to create the light within through the pressure of experience. Christ moves to release that light, that wisdom, that love into creation... Lucifer, like Christ, stands at the door of man’s consciousness and knocks. If man says, ‘Go away because I do not like what you represent. I am afraid of you,’ Lucifer will play tricks on that fellow. If man says, ‘Come in, and I will give to you the treat of my love and understanding and I will uplift you in the light and presences of the Christ, my outflow,’ then Lucifer becomes something else again. He becomes the being who carries that great treat, the ultimate treat, the light of wisdom. [Lucifer] is the light giver. … He stands no longer as the tester or the tempter but as the great initiator, the one who hands the soul over to the Christ and from the Christ on into even greater realms. … Lucifer works within each of us to bring us to wholeness, and as we move into a New Age, which is the age of man’s wholeness, each of us in some way is brought to that point which I term the Luciferic initiation, the particular doorway through which the individual must pass if he is to come fully into the presence of his light and his wholeness. … At some point each of us faces the presence of Lucifer. We either fear it when we come to grips with what we term ancient evil or the spirit of darkness, or we move throughit and realize that we are each of us light and dark. … When we do accept it, we can emerge into the radiance of our inner light, the light that can never be extinguished. … Lucifer comes to give to us the final gift of wholeness. If we accept it then he is free and we are free. That is the Luciferic initiation. It is one that many people now, and in the days ahead, will be facing, for it is an initiation in the New Age. … In the New Age consciousness there is not good and evil.”

    • Other names: Atergatis, Ataratha, Taratha, 'Atar'arah (Aramaic), Tr'th (in the Talmud), Atargates, Derceto, Dea Suria, Syria Dea, Deasura, Iasura. [112]
      • Identified with: Astarte, Ishtar, Venus Urania, Hera, Rhea, Cybele, Aphrodite. She is sometimes also called Artemis Azzanathcona. [113]
    • "Atargates" may perhaps be compared with "Ashteroth" of Karnaim ("Ashteroth of the Double Horn"; Gen. xiv. 5), whose temple is mentioned as late as I Macc. v. 43 (τὸ τέμενος ἐν Καρναΐν); for the τὸ Ἀταργατεῖον of II Macc. xii. 26 is also mentioned in connection with τὸ Καρνίον. Lucian ("De Syria Dea," xiv.) says: "Many people are of the opinion that Semiramis the Babylonian, of whom there are many memorials in Asia, also founded the sanctuary of Hierapolis in Syria, but dedicated it not to Juno, but to her mother, Derceto." Lucian himself doubts this, however, for he continues: "I have seen the image of Derceto in Phenicia: a strange sight! The upper half represents a woman; the lower half, from the hips down, the tail of a fish. The goddess at Hierapolis, however, is entirely a woman." Nevertheless, the goddess worshiped in Hierapolis was probably identical, in idea if not in form, with Derceto, who had a temple in Askalon (Philistia). [114]
    • The people of Hierapolis avoided eating fish, "and they do that, according to their belief, for the sake of Derceto." Though Lucian says "There are people in Egypt who eat no fish, yet not to please Derceto," it is doubtful if this is decisive. In 'Ab. Zarah 11b, also, "Tar'atah shebe-Mapeg" ("Mabug" = Hierapolis) is combined with "Ẓerifah shebe-Ashḳelon." Finally, the fish may have been made the symbol of the goddess Derceto on account of its fecundity. A calendar preserved in the Louvre represents the lower half of Derceto's body in the shape of a fish. Incubus

  • Various notes:
    • In Western medieval legend, an incubus (plural incubi) is a demon in male form supposed to lie upon sleepers, especially women, in order to have sexual intercourse with them. It was believed to do this in order to spawn other incubi. The incubus drains energy from the woman on whom it performs sexual intercourse in order to sustain itself,
